Orthopedic CT Exams

In standard X-rays, a beam of energy is aimed at the body part being studied. A plate behind the body part captures pictures of the variations of the beam after it passes through skin, bone, muscle, and other tissue.

While much can be obtained from a standard X-ray, CT scans can provide more detailed images, thus providing more information related to bones, soft tissues, and joints for damage, lesions, fractures, or other abnormalities from injuries and/or diseases of the bone, as well as detail about surrounding organs and other structures.
